Memorial Day 2026
I am grateful for all American soldiers that died while in service to our country.
This Memorial Day I’m thinking of Americans that gave their lives during combat, fighting to keep our country’s freedoms. Thank you to their family members for their sacrifices.
I’m especially grateful for Uncle Tommie Kuge. He was with the 442nd Regimental Combat Team, Sharp Shooter with Company K.
Who are you celebrating this Memorial Day? How?
In gratitude,

I posted a substack about how my father's life was saved by young American soldiers: https://levraphael.substack.com/p/gis-saved-my-fathers-life?utm_source=post-email-title&publication_id=1328635&post_id=199158658&utm_campaign=email-post-title&isFreemail=false&r=2rnno&triedRedirect=true&utm_medium=email
I am reflecting, during my morning quiet time, and giving thanks for my Dad and all my—and my husband’s—uncles who served in WWII. They all came home but are now gone. Also for ALL those who have dies in service.
We are celebrating with a front porch picnic and giving thanks for desperately needed rain.
