GOALLL!
In hockey, writing and everyday living, hitting a goal feels tremendous. Let's do it!
“Plan your work and work your plan.”
~Napoleon Hill
Is there something you are itching to do? Set a date for it to be done. Write down what you want to achieve. Decide how much time a day, week, month, year, you’ll work on your plan. Then follow your plan. And imagine the impossible.
It’s the same set of steps whether you want to accomplish something simple or extravagant.
Let’s look at the other side—failing to set aside time. Keeping dreams in imaginations, not daring to write it down, therefore, nothing to work on. What have you accomplished then? How does that make you feel?
Dreams come true.
Your life is your choice.
Do your thing, daily. Make it part of your routine. Having trouble?
Set a routine to start your thing.
For years I didn’t fully make my bed. I’d toss the duvet over everything underneath and started my day.
Then I started having different temperature needs than my husband. I started using lighter covers and airing out my side of the bed upon rising. After showering and getting ready for the day, I straightened the sheets, made the bed, played with the dog, then started my day. Now, it’s automatic. The routine of making my bed, step by step, moment by moment, becomes ritualistic and calming.
That was a small thing.
Here’s a big thing—
In 2021 I inherited Toshiaki Kuge’s memorabilia. This was a treasure of historic primary source materials documenting their lives from the Pacific Northwest during WWII.
How could I share this with the world? I knew I couldn’t do it alone.
I set a goal. Then I broke up the goal into smaller achievable steps adding flexible due dates.
Even if it put me out of my comfort zone, I took advantage of opportunities while continuing to work out the other parts of the plan.
Today I’m honored to say that Toshiaki and Mae Kuge’s story has been shared publicly in several places.
I Am An American: The Nisei Soldier Experience traveling exhibit.
NHK World and NHK International mini documentaries in English and Japanese.
Torrance Katy Geissert Civic Center Main Library display case during March 2026.
Their epistolary romance during WWII’s American concentration camps, published on MamaCarole’s Substack, has over 650 subscribers/followers, read in 27 states and 17 countries.
I’m not done yet. I’m just getting started and I’m ever so grateful for your support.
In the meantime, I want to celebrate my journey thus far and give everyone my heartfelt thank you.
What are you planning?
Write it down. Set a date for it to be done. Break up your task into smaller steps. You can do it! Celebrate your success.
Now, get to work!
I believe in you,
